Training your puppy from the moment it comes into your home is so beneficial, yet why do so many owners not do puppy training, or do it right?

Why do so many owners end up having an adolescent dog or even an adult dog with behaviour problems?

When you get a new puppy at 8 weeks of age you have a clean slate in front of you to teach it everything it needs to know from the moment it comes through your front door.

By doing that you are going to avoid many future behavioural issues because you have instilled learning and promoted the behaviours you want to see while your dog is at an impressionable age.

Many dog owners out there just plod on with training their puppy as they believe they still have a puppy at 8, 9, 10 months of age as the dog is still growing.

Unfortunately, the owner doesn’t realise that even though the dog is still growing, it stopped being a puppy at 5 months of age when it started having hormonal changes in its brain and its teenage phase started.

Because of this dogs can miss out on lots of education when it is vitally needed to help avoid unwanted behaviours happening, thus setting them up for success.

Puppy training is not all about obedience, meeting a few dogs here, a few people there etc, you have to fully educate your puppy to every scenario that you want it to cope with in life.
