Dog Trainer Bury — Force-Free Training That Actually Works

Burrs Country Park is one of Bury’s real gems for dog owners — 89 acres along the River Irwell with woodland, riverside paths and even a dog-friendly cafe. Fantastic for a dog — but if yours pulls, barks at everything, or won’t come back when called, even a beautiful walk becomes hard work.

I’m Jason, founder of Simply Dog Behaviour, training dogs across Bury and the wider Rochdale area since 2010 — always force-free, always grounded in how dogs actually learn.

Common Issues I See in Bury

Burrs gets busy — other dogs, families, the odd steam train on the East Lancashire Railway line running through the park — which is exactly where lead reactivity and overexcitement tend to show up. Along the quieter stretches towards Elton Reservoir, recall is usually the bigger focus.

How Training Works

Every session is one-to-one, tailored to your dog, with no group classes. We work on reading body language, practical force-free techniques, and a proper recall foundation you can trust — whether that’s around Burrs or the quieter riverside paths.
